Karratha Gas Plant
The Karratha Gas Plant is one of the most advanced integrated gas production systems in the world, where LNG, domestic gas, condensate and LPG is produced.
Located 1260 kilometres north of Perth, Western Australia, the plant covers about 200 hectares and includes:
- five LNG processing trains;
- two domestic gas trains;
- six condensate stabilisation units;
- three LPG fractionation units; and
- storage and loading facilities for LNG, LPG and condensate.
The plant has the capacity to produce 16.3 million tonnes of LNG per year, 12,000 tonnes (approximately 600 terajoules) of domestic gas per day and 130,000 barrels of condensate per day. Up to 3,000 tonnes of LPG per day is produced, most of which is stored in a 52,000m3 propane tank and a 65,000m3 butane tank for refrigerated export.
